11-01-2020: Ravensbank Holly (Holly) this morning had six large puppies - three bitches and three dogs. All bitches are yellow. One dog is black.

05:44 black dog, 520 gr. (Ravensbank Ainsley)
06:06 yellow dog, 476 gr. (Ravensbank Gordon)
07:04 yellow bitch, 514 gr. (Ravensbank Jennifer)
07:13 yellow bitch, 462 gr. (Ravensbank Clarissa)
08:22 yellow bitch, 440 gr. (Ravensbank Delia)
09:30 yellow dog, 556 gr. (Ravensbank Jamie)

Holly is a champion in the whelping box. She is calm and well balanced diligently taking care of her pups. She is eating normally and there is absolutely no fuzz about her. The puppies all appear sound and healthy, and although they are born really quite big, they are already growing in weight.

05-12-2019: The day arrived, where Squareclose Wendy (Nessie) had her debut as part of my picking-up team on a large estate shoot. She was the third dog in my pack with Ravensbank Bob (Bob) and Ravensbank Biscuit (Bibi) in front. To put it short: It was a huge success. Nessie had a good handful of fine retrieves. She picked marked birds, hunted down lost birds and took one fine blind on a line in the field. Spontaneous retrieves of wounded birds, good soft mouth, very powerful with style yet spotless at heel between drives. Above all, Nessie masters the most demanding of all, which is to remain calm and stay cool when she is not being asked to deliver her magic. I am so proud of my apprentice retriever.

12-08-2019: Yesterday, I participated in the 2019 Cold Game Rally for young dogs under the age of two years. The first part is a regular cold game test in which Nessie on the 20 point scale scored 20, 16 and 14. In the competition part we had two single marks separated by a stretch where we should just walk to heel. Nessie was spot on with the first mark. And her heelwork was brilliant. The second mark was too much for my young dog. Quite long and very difficult terrain. She was close, but never had any wind, and that was the end of her competition.

Nessie's litter brother, 2UM2019 Squareclose West (Bosse), handled by Ms. Charlotte Rasmussen also participated in the test (which in Denmark is known as the "Young Dog's Championship"). With almost 100 participating dogs, Bosse came in second and was awarded the official title 2UM2019.

I regret to say, that I do not have rights to any pictures from Charlottes podium, but they can be seen here.
